How does the CLAMPBOOSTER work?

Docked directly to the vise, the CLAMPBOOSTER autonomously detects whether the vise in the machine is closed or open, thanks to integrated sensors. It reacts automatically by closing or opening the clamping device. No command from the robot is necessary. The CLAMPBOOSTER then communicates to the robot that the manufacturing process can continue.

How is the CLAMPBOOSTER operated?

The two parameters, tightening torque and opening path of the vise, are entered into the user interface.

Which interfaces does the CLAMPBOOSTER use to communicate with the robot?

The CLAMPBOOSTER supports common industrial Ethernet and fieldbus standards such as PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, EtherCAT, and Modbus TCP. This allows it to be flexibly integrated into PLC and robot systems and used in both closely networked and stand-alone automation concepts.

How long does it take to set up the CLAMPBOOSTER?

The CLAMPBOOSTER must be set up once for the vise.
To do this, the appropriate docking plate for the vise is screwed on (two screws on the front of the CLAMPBOOSTER), the matching spin socket is attached and secured with a pin. This takes no longer than approx. 15 minutes.

How is the CLAMPBOOSTER driven?

It features an electric drive.

Is the torque variable?

Yes, it is adjustable between 5 Nm and 100 Nm.

How is the torque absorbed?

The torque is transmitted directly to the vise via the docking plate and two locating pins. No force is transmitted to the robot arm.

What requirements must the vise meet?

Only two locating pins need to be set.

Is it possible to control the CLAMPBOOSTER via an external interface?

Integration of the control into the robot's HMI (Human Machine Interface) is possible.

Can a power-assisted vise also be clamped automatically?

Yes, our CLAMPBOOSTER is the only EOAT worldwide that can automatically clamp these technically demanding and valuable vises. This guarantees their use when deciding on CNC automation.

As an alternative to the normal manual vise, our development created the possibility of performing the complex clamping process of a high-pressure vise with its numerous force increases using the CLAMPBOOSTER. A simple selection in the CLAMPBOOSTER software causes the CLAMPBOOSTER to trigger the mechanism in the vise through its defined torque (rotational movement). Force setting and guide path are still programmed on the power-assisted vise.

Can the CLAMPBOOSTER also meet requirements for more complex workpiece clamping?

Yes, the CLAMPBOOSTER also handles complex workpiece clamping tasks, such as the use of multiple vises in the machine, the use of power-assisted vises, and the definition of different torques and/or different opening widths of the vise jaws.

How is remote maintenance performed?

The CLAMPBOOSTER must be connected to the network (LAN or WLAN). Access by our After-Sales Service is only possible after approval by the customer.
